1970 world Cup football
The First world cup in north America was held in Mexico from 31 may to 21 June,1970. Sixteen teams from five different confederation were played 32 matches in five venues.Juanito was the official mascot and Adidas Telster was the official ball for the world cup. Brazil won their third world cup by beating the Italy 4-1 in the final game. For their third world cup win Brazil were allowed to keep the Jules Rimet trophy. In the Mexico world cup west Germany and Uruguay took the 3rd and fourth position. In this world cup for the first time substitution was allowed and yellow or red card were also introduced in this 1970 world cup. Gerd Muller was the highest scorer and Peru get the fair play award in this world cup.
