World cup 1938

The 1938 FIFA World Cup was the third World Cup, which held in France from 4 June to 19 June. Originally 16 Country (France, Belgium, Italy, Norway, Brazil, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, Hungary, Dutch East Indie, Sweden, Austria, Cuba, and Romania) were going to take part. But after the Anschluss to Germany in March, Austria withdrew. So 15 teams participated in this tournament. The final was played at the tade Olympique de Colombes, Paris in 19 June. Italy retained the championship, beating Hungary 4–2 in the final.
